Because most QW furniture is handcrafted to order, delivery is a little different than receiving a standard package. We offer several pickup and delivery options depending on your location and the level of service you prefer.
Choose Your Delivery Option
Blanket-wrapped for transport.
Most QW furniture travels fully blanket-wrapped and padded rather than packed in cartons, so it’s protected by experienced furniture handlers instead of cardboard. A handful of smaller items do ship boxed. On every delivery service, the blankets come off at delivery and go back on the truck.
Long-distance delivery: Please allow approximately 2–4 additional weeks after your furniture is completed, depending on your location and the delivery route.
Please note: Removal of your existing furniture is not available with any delivery option.
How Delivery Works
Your Furniture Is Completed
Once your furniture is completed and ready to begin the delivery process, QW will provide an updated timeframe. Long-distance orders are then coordinated onto a delivery route serving your area.

Work through the short checklist below to make sure your home is ready before your delivery team arrives.
Receive & Inspect
Please inspect your furniture while the delivery team is present. If you notice shipping damage or another concern, notify the driver and QW immediately so it can be documented and addressed.
Before Delivery Day
A little preparation helps your delivery go smoothly. Before your furniture arrives, please confirm the following:
- Property access: Your location must be safely accessible by a pickup truck pulling an enclosed furniture trailer.
- Snow & obstacles: Driveways, walkways, entrances, and delivery paths must be clear and safely accessible.
- Measure your home: Make sure the furniture will fit through doorways, hallways, stairways, elevators, and other access points.
- Prepare the room: For in-home delivery, have the intended room cleared and ready before the delivery team arrives.
- Building requirements: Arrange any elevator reservations, loading access, COIs, or other building requirements in advance.
If your property has a narrow driveway, steep grade, restricted entrance, low clearance, difficult turnaround, or another unusual access condition, please contact QW before delivery.
Additional storage, transfer, redelivery, or other charges may apply if a delivery cannot be completed because the property is inaccessible or the customer is unable to accept the scheduled delivery.
Need Us to Hold Your Furniture?
If you’re not quite ready to receive your furniture when it is completed, please let us know. We can hold completed orders for up to 30 days. If storage is needed for longer than 30 days, additional storage fees will apply.
Special Delivery Situations
Apartment & Condo Deliveries
If your building requires a Certificate of Insurance (COI), proof of Workers’ Compensation coverage, or other delivery documentation, please contact QW well before your scheduled delivery.
We will need an example of the required documentation. A $100 processing fee applies for each required piece of documentation.
Ferry Access
Our delivery teams do not transport furniture by ferry.
If your location requires ferry access, we may be able to deliver your furniture to a third-party local delivery provider who can complete the final portion of the delivery. Arrangements, coordination, and costs associated with ferry transportation and third-party delivery are the customer’s responsibility.

Furniture Inspection & Delivery Damage
We work with experienced furniture delivery professionals and take great care to protect your furniture throughout transportation. Each piece is inspected before it leaves QW, and most travel fully blanket-wrapped rather than boxed.
Please inspect your furniture while the delivery team is still present. If you notice visible shipping damage or another concern, notify the driver and QW immediately so the issue can be documented and addressed.
QW is not responsible for damage to personal property, other than the furniture being delivered, that occurs during the delivery process.
Returns
Most QW furniture is handcrafted specifically for your order. Because of its custom nature, approved returns are subject to a 30% restocking fee.
Return requests must be submitted within 7 days of receiving your furniture. Original shipping and delivery charges are non-refundable, and customers are responsible for all return transportation costs.
Certain products, including gift cards, stains, and mattresses, are not eligible for return.
Please contact QW at sales@qualitywoods.com before arranging a return so we can review your request and provide instructions.
Refunds
Once an approved return has been received and inspected, we will notify you regarding the status of your refund.
If approved, your refund will be issued to the original payment method, less any applicable restocking fees, delivery charges, return transportation costs, or other applicable charges.

- Payment & Financing: We understand that investing in hand-crafted furniture is significant. We offer the flexibility of starting your order with a deposit of just 30% of the order value. When you start your order with a 30% deposit, the remaining balance is due when your furniture is out of production. The remaining balance may be automatically charged to the card information on file. To place an order with a 30% deposit, call us at 507-289-6866 or checkout online and select '30% Deposit' under Purchase Options when you add an item to cart. Some products that ship within 8 weeks do not qualify for our deposit payment program.
- Build Times: Once your purchase is finalized with QW Furniture, your order goes directly into production. See individual product pages for detailed estimates of build times. Our posted build times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Remember, our furniture is handcrafted and must pass rigorous quality checks. Build time delays do not permit cancellation. Note that our build time may be extended over holidays due to our craftsmen and women taking time to be with their families.
- Order Changes: You can make changes to your order up to 48 hours from order placement without a fee. Changes after this time frame will incur a $100 change fee, plus any stoppage fees related to parts already ordered or cut, and hardware ordered.
- Cancellations: You may cancel your order up to 48 hours after placing it for a full refund. Cancellation requests after 48 hours will result in a 30% restocking fee.

- Furniture Inspection: Most of our furniture is securely wrapped in blankets during shipping and delivery. It is your responsibility to inspect your furniture upon delivery to ensure there is no damage.
- Hand Crafted Furniture: Each piece of our furniture is handcrafted, with unique grain patterns and characteristics. No two pieces of furniture are exactly alike. We offer stain samples to visualize the finish in your home, understanding that finish colors will vary. For other product questions, please visit our FAQ Page or Contact Us.
- Return Requests: Given our furniture is custom-built, a 30% restocking fee applies to all returns. We accept return requests within 7 days of receiving your furniture. Shipping charges are non-refundable and you will be responsible for return shipping charges. Certain items, such as gift cards, stain, and mattresses cannot be returned.
- Refunds: Upon receiving and inspecting your returned item, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, a refund will be issued to your original payment method within a certain number of days.
- Product Protection: We offer a comprehensive Furniture Protection Program in partnership with Guardsman. Learn more on our Guardsman Protection Plan page.
- Warranty: All our products come with a standard one-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and workmanship errors. This warranty does not cover commercial use, normal wear and tear, or wood expansion and contraction caused by uncontrolled humidity conditions. The warranty applied to the original purchaser and does not survive resale. Contact QW Furniture for any warranty issues.
- Sales Tax: QW Furniture is required to collect sales tax for orders shipped to the following states: Alabama (Simplified sellers use tax SSU-R012765156), Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
